Author Guidelines

Scope and Contribution

The Journal of Multidimensional Management (JoMM) publishes rigorous, relevant, and methodologically sound studies in management and related fields. The journal particularly welcomes research addressing management issues in hospitality, tourism, service, and related organisational contexts, while continuing to consider high-quality studies across the broader field of management.

Submissions must clearly identify the research problem, relevant state of the art, research gap, theoretical positioning, research objective, and specific theoretical, managerial, methodological, or policy contribution. A change of geographical or organisational setting alone is not considered sufficient evidence of novelty.

Article Types and Recommended Length

JoMM prioritises original research articles while also considering other scholarly article types where they provide a clear contribution.

• Research Article: normally 5,000 to 8,000 words.
• Review Article: normally 6,000 to 10,000 words. Systematic reviews, bibliometric reviews, and meta-analyses should follow appropriate reporting standards, such as PRISMA where applicable.
• Conceptual Paper: normally 4,000 to 7,000 words.
• Case Study / Teaching Case: normally 3,000 to 6,000 words. A teaching note should be provided where applicable.
• Short Communication: normally 2,000 to 3,000 words and should report a concise but meaningful scholarly contribution.

Word limits exclude references and supplementary materials. Departures from these recommendations may be considered where justified.

Language and Formatting

• Manuscripts must be written in clear academic English.
• Authors must use the latest JoMM manuscript template available on the journal website.
• Manuscripts should be prepared on A4 paper using Bodoni MT 10 pt, single spacing, with margins consistent with the official JoMM template.
• Tables and figures should be placed near their first citation in the text.
• Figures should normally have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi and remain clearly readable at publication size.
• SI units should be used where applicable.

File Preparation for Double-Blind Review

JoMM applies a double-blind peer-review process. Authors should prepare the following files:

1. Title Page

The Title Page should include:

• article title;
• full names and affiliations of all authors;
• corresponding author details;
• ORCID iDs where available;
• Author Contributions;
• Funding;
• Conflict of Interest;
• Data Availability;
• Acknowledgements, where applicable.

2. Anonymous Main Manuscript

The anonymous manuscript should contain:

• title;
• abstract;
• keywords;
• main text;
• tables and figures;
• references.

The manuscript must not contain author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, contact information, or other identifying information.

Authors should also remove identifying information from the document properties and file metadata before submission.

3. Supplementary Files

Figures, datasets, research instruments, appendices, or other supplementary materials may be uploaded separately where necessary.

4. Cover Letter

A cover letter is optional and may briefly explain the manuscript's relevance to JoMM's Focus and Scope, novelty, and principal contribution.

Manuscript Structure

Title

The title should be concise, informative, searchable, and preferably not exceed 16 words. Avoid unnecessary abbreviations and location-specific wording unless the research context is substantively important.

A running title of no more than 60 characters may also be provided.

Abstract

The abstract should contain 150 to 250 words and briefly present:

• research context or problem;
• objective;
• method;
• data or sample;
• principal findings;
• conclusion;
• main contribution or implication.

References should not be cited in the abstract.

Keywords

Provide 3 to 6 keywords that represent the main concepts of the study and facilitate indexing and discoverability.

1. Introduction

The Introduction should establish the research problem, relevant state of the art, research gap, novelty or contribution, significance of the study, and research objective.

2. Literature Review / Theoretical Framework

This section should critically synthesise relevant literature, establish the theoretical basis of the study, and develop hypotheses or propositions where applicable.

3. Method

The Method section should provide sufficient information to assess the validity, transparency, and reproducibility of the study. Where applicable, authors should report:

• research design and context;
• population, sample, or data source;
• sampling or recruitment procedure;
• data-collection period and procedure;
• measures or research instruments;
• validity, reliability, or qualitative trustworthiness;
• data-analysis procedures;
• software used;
• ethical considerations.

4. Results / Findings

Results should be presented clearly and logically according to the research objectives, questions, hypotheses, or analytical themes.

Where applicable, authors should report appropriate statistical or analytical evidence, including effect sizes, confidence intervals, model indicators, or other relevant measures rather than relying solely on statistical significance.

5. Discussion

The Discussion should interpret rather than simply repeat the results.

Authors should:

• explain the principal findings;
• compare findings critically with previous studies;
• relate findings to relevant theories;
• discuss unexpected or contradictory results where appropriate;
• identify theoretical contributions;
• explain practical or managerial implications.

6. Conclusion

The Conclusion should directly answer the research objective, highlight the principal findings and contribution, and present relevant implications. New results or extensive new arguments should not be introduced in this section.

References

References must follow IEEE style.

Appendices / Supplementary Materials

These may be included where necessary.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and cited in the main text.

• Table titles should appear above the table.
• Figure captions should appear below the figure.
• Tables should preferably be editable rather than inserted as images.
• Figures should normally have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
• Sources must be acknowledged where figures or tables are adapted from previously published material.

IEEE Citation and References

JoMM uses IEEE numerical citation style.

In-text Citation

References should be numbered according to their first appearance in the manuscript.

The same number must be reused when the same source is cited again.

Reference List

The reference list should be titled References and arranged according to citation sequence.

Authors should prioritise relevant, current, and peer-reviewed primary literature. Research articles should contain an adequate scholarly foundation, normally with at least 15 references. Authors are strongly encouraged to ensure that more than 80% of references are primary scholarly sources and more than 80% are from the most recent 10 years, while relevant seminal or classical works may still be cited.

DOIs should be included where available.

Research Integrity and Publication Ethics

JoMM is committed to responsible research and publication practices.

All submitted manuscripts are screened for textual similarity using plagiarism-detection software. Similarity reports are evaluated qualitatively by the editorial team. A similarity percentage alone does not determine whether plagiarism has occurred. Manuscripts containing substantial or inappropriate textual overlap may be returned, rejected, or investigated in accordance with JoMM's Publication Ethics and Plagiarism Policy.

Research involving human or animal participants must comply with applicable ethical standards. Where formal ethical approval is required, authors should provide the name of the approving institution or ethics committee and the approval number or other relevant identification.

Informed consent should be reported where applicable.

Manuscripts that pass editorial screening are evaluated through JoMM's double-blind peer-review process.

Author Declarations

Published articles should include the following declarations where applicable.

Author Contributions

For manuscripts with multiple authors, contributions should be stated using the CRediT Contributor Roles Taxonomy where appropriate.

Funding

Authors must disclose all financial support received for the research.

If no external funding was received, authors may state:

This research received no external funding.

Data Availability

Authors should provide a statement explaining whether and under what conditions data, instruments, code, or other materials supporting the findings are available.

Where data cannot be publicly shared because of ethical, legal, privacy, confidentiality, or other legitimate restrictions, the reason should be stated.

Ethical Approval

Where applicable, authors should provide the name of the approving ethics committee or institution and the approval number.

Informed Consent

Where applicable, authors should state that informed consent was obtained from research participants.

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial interests that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research.

If no competing interests exist, authors may state:

The authors declare no competing interests.

Artificial Intelligence Use Statement

Authors must disclose the use of generative artificial intelligence or AI-assisted technologies in manuscript preparation where applicable.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, confidentiality, references, analyses, interpretations, and final content of the manuscript.

If no generative AI or AI-assisted technologies were used, authors may state:

The authors declare that no generative AI or AI-assisted technologies were used in the preparation of this manuscript.

Where AI tools were used, authors should identify the tool and briefly describe its purpose.
